Here is another fantastic reason for becoming a SmartPost customer, there is no sign up or annual membership fee.
Presently customs fees are only charged on a package that has contents valuing greater than USD$50.00. We encourage customers to do their research as it relates to customs fees and make comparisons on the feasibility of ordering online versus buying items locally. At present we have shipments twice per week Monday mornings and Thursday evenings. NB. Packages arriving on Thursday evening’s flight are only accessible to be cleared through Jamaica Customs on a Friday morning.
Packages usually take less than a week to get to Jamaica, once it is received by our personnel at our facility in West Park. To avoid delays ensure the packages are addressed properly.
You can log in to your dashboard to make delivery requests. It’s pretty easy. Ensure that you make the delivery requests before midday on Mondays to Wednesdays to enjoy our free delivery service. To ensure prompt and timely deliveries, we encourage all customers to make delivery requests online. Failure to do so may cause delays. Conditions apply. We encourage all customers to make yourselves available. If a customer has to leave or is unavailable after making delivery requests, we recommend you contact the SmartPost office or the bearer, advising them of any changes in your availability. Also notes can be made online to indicate changes in your delivery preferences. I.E. time, location, authorized delivery person, if the consignee is different from the SmartPost account holder.
Restricted packages Toy guns, pepper spray, any form of weapons including swords, guns, ammunition, radar detectors, unprocessed meat, live animals, firecrackers, explosives, lighters and matches, camouflage, cash etc.
Supplements, pesticides, sexual enhancers, certain plants and seeds, animal products, honey, gun holsters, bow and arrow etc. Please contact us for information before shipping these items.
